Landscape gardener accidentally crushed friend to death while driving forklift truck

A landscape gardener accidentally crushed his friend to death with a forklift truck as they transported trees at a newly built multi-million pound house, an inquest heard today.

Ben Williams, 36, ran over Russell Meech, 28, when he tripped in front of the noisy vehicle as the pair helped install 11,000 plants and trees at the mansion.

Mr Meech, who had only recently moved in with his girlfriend, suffered a cadiac arrest when the truck's heavy wheels rolled over him as fellow workers screamed and shouted at the driver to stop.
