Landscape Design Software

HI All,

Apologies if this is is a repeated question but im looking for a Landscape/Garden Design software?

Dont mind paying for one if its worth it but not wanting to spend load and loads, saying that I wouldn't mind if its free either!

Basically im looking for something that I can plan and present to customers for a more visually effective tool when quoting etc, currently im doing basic plans using a mix of Windows Paint and Free online software from Marshall's etc.

I need something that I can produce basic plans on and add details such as measurements and areas etc and that is quick and easy to use, i don't want to waste too much time with complicated software when quoting jobs.

Any help or advice will be greatly received.

Hope everyone's keeping their books full and busy.

Many Thanks

Brendan, Special Landscape Services

Have you tried google sketch up (I think it's called that) supposed to be quite good. Can upgrade to a better paid version if you like it
    • Thanks Richard I'll take a look

google sketch up is great for 3d designs. Currently I'm testing out a package called turbocad which isn't to shabby, Similar product to cadiopia.

If you want something really cheap that can do the job on some designs have a look at a little program called Garden Planner. It's about £40 and does a basic but good enough job if you stay away from the cartoon looking garden furniture etc

I did the plan below on Garden planner. Like i said not the best but it does well considering its a 10th of the price of Turbocad

    • Thanks for the recommendations I'll take a look, the Garden Planner looks more like what I'm after to send out with quotes and customers to draw over changes and scan back to me. Thanks again

If this is the level of drawing you need then you may as well download the free version of Sketchup (called Sketchup make - you will get the Pro version for a trial period which, after the trial, then reverts to the free, less sophisticated version). Once you have your drawing you should be able to export it as a jpeg image file for your clients to print, amend and scan. Also gives you availability to do basic 3D and utilise models from the 3D warehouse.

    • Cheers Mike, will look into this.
