    The local radio gardening guru said that it is most likely to appear in imported nursery stock, which is logical. The question is how fast do the nurseries shift their stock?

    The Dutch flower distributors trade on a door to door basis pulling their wagons up at florists and the like, so there is a weak link in the system there with direct delivery of plants and glowers that have passed rapidly through the Dutch markets.

    The buy British and all will be well approach sounds great, but people will have to get used to seasonal availability again, rather than exotic plants being available throughout the year.

  • I always buy locally produced or at least UK grown plants for customers to reduce the risks of importing disease affected plants.
