Hi all, new to LJN so I apologise if in wrong section or something!Iv been using excel for my client database/invoicing for a while now and it's so long winded when producing a job file so iv trialled jobber. It's going ok but how to you all go about putting clients next visit date on their invoice so that they know when you will be going?I am aware you can set an email reminder etc but not all my clients are on email.I did email jobber and they say you can't pull the next visit date onto the invoice so just wondering what everyone else does? Thanks in advance for you're help!

Hi Mark, I'm a Jobber user. I've not had need to do this but I assume you want to let your customers know when the next visit will be? The only way I know is to add it manually in the notes section at the bottom if the invoice. Alternatively, you can add a basic task to the schedule to remind you to give them a call a few days before the visit is due. A lot of our clients are generally on a regular repeating pattern so they don't necessarily need reminding.
• Thanks darren, i thought that but then i cant create my invoices by batch. I curently use excel doing them 1 by 1, if i had to do this in jobber id save no time. My customers need to have it on their invoice really so they can leave gates unlocked or leave payments out etc. Calling them all a few days before creates alot more work with the ammount of visits i have too. Wondering if another program may be able to cope better with what im trying to do like service autopilot etc. Jobber does seem pretty good but its just this little snag that iv found thats important to me :/
Thanks for your reply :)

Sometimes work processes or software needs to be tweeked to fit all our little idiosyncrasies.

If you become a Jobber user, maybe log an enhnancement request ? You may find if they agree it's a good idea they will roll it in.

SAP is a no go for the UK. Search LJN for my comments.

We use QX, which will do that, but would not recommend as it is effectively end of lifed.

Are you 'rigid' in your scheduling ? What do you do for those clients that have been notified on their Invoices if you have bad weather, machine breakdown, sickness etc ?

• Thanks for the reply gary.
Is qx really that bad?

Is there anything else i could look at as well as jobber then?
In answer to your question, with bad weather and things like that we do call everyone.. But having to call everyone each day just to remind them of a treatment would turn out more work at the office.

Can Jobber get that data field (Next Visit date) onto another report (ie could you print off some form of 1 page per client Compliment Slip - DL sized) to go with the Invoice ?

No, QX is a really, really good product. Very, very tried & tested. Very customisable for ALL reports (inc Invoices). Very stable.

Issues;

- SW company taken over for it's IPR & Customer base.

- Minimal enhancements since the Version 10 product

- It's still a "Desktop only" solution

There are a few other US cloud based products, some of which may work ok for UK...

• Could be onto something there Gary, will look into that!
I thought qx was desktop and cloud based, id much prefer to be cloud for a few reasons one being so that on a doorstep leaving a client.. If im asked about changing a date i can do it there ans then without having to make a note and calling them the day after, or booking extra work in etc.
Il have a search for some more cloud based products and see what i can find too.

Qxpress Online never really got going and many who ported over found it a one way street and the online product very hard to use compared with the Desktop version.

I also believe Intuit (the providers of Quickbooks - which we use ) removed the IDS services which made it hard to sync between the two products.

We use QX for Estmating and scheduling and have it shoot all invoices through to QB for printing and keeping the AR up todate (ie QB maintains realtime accounts for us)

• I even looked into office 365, using it on cloud meant i would be able to do a lot out in the field with bookings/outlook calender & emailing invoices on its excel etc. I came away from it wanting more of a program like jobber but just seem a little restricted on those small few things. Like you mentioned though, i may be able to get around it as i do like jobber

What's got my appetite wetted is this from Jobber (and gets around the cloud issue of being 'offline') :

Jobber :

Native App
We have hired a full time developer to focus on mobile and only mobile. So the mobile website, Android app and iOS app are all in the works.

• The jobber app is great but would be better if i had it fully working. Iv got the app on iphone and ipad for my trial but it keeps crashing with a green blank screen and also when i added extra services to the app like scarifying etc they dont show up when creating a quote/invoice etc. Emailed support about it days ago but its still not working. Works fine on mobile browser though.
