Instant Hedging

Hello,I Iwatched a contractor install what I Ithought was a rather distinctive fence along a roadside for an old folks home. They initially built a large wooden frame fence then attached what I thought was bamboo poles (the large thick type about size of scaffolding poles). It actually looked quite nice and different, however it's now sprouted branches & green leaves, and now looks a fantastic high hedge. I've tried to find what these poles were with no luck. Has anyone seen something similar or know what it is and a supplier? I'd stop for a proper look but there's nowhere suitable on the busy road.

Possibly a "living fence". Willow usually.
  • The poles were roughly 30ft high, much higher & thicker than any willow I've seen.
  • Why not drive in, park up and take a photo? I'd love to see this!

If it's an old people's home you should get a few minutes before you need to do a runner.... :-)

  • if its a old folks home go and ask the estate manager as they always get a copy of the spec
