  • Yes I've noticed a difference in prices from different glazers. I must say I prefer a traditional glass greenhouse to the plastic look. The customer isn't to bothered either way, so I think I'll push for the glass option.

Here are some prices I found on the net:

The Greenhouse Warehouse will send you a sample pack for £2.00

You can even buy Polycarbonate 4mm glass from Amazon - 2ft x 2ft Unbreakable Greenhouse Glass 4mm thick (610 x 610mm) - although this does look a pricey option.
  • we are based in hampshire, and have quite a bit of glass in stock that we will not sell to customers due to h/s issues regarding glass,we have however given some away.
what size do you need and how many?
  • Hi steve

I'm looking for 7 of the 610mm x 610mm and a couple of the triangluar pieces. I'm up in Edinburgh, postage might be an issue !

    Thanks for those links Phil.

I shall phone round a few glazers next week and see what deal I can find.

I had to renovate an old wooden greenhouse last year. I used polycarbonate sheets which are much more durable than glass and certainly stronger. The supplier I used is below. Whichever way you go even if the panes look the same size they may not be. Just 1 or 2 mm out and your pane will not fit....another reason to consider Polycarb sheets as you can make minor adjustments on site.
