It's something we have all got to get used to ......and fast! We have enough space to compost, but 'woody stuff' goes to a commercial recycling yard. Our Local Authority has now banned ALL vans and trucks during the week, and cut the opening hours drastically, so the noose is tightening for everyone. It's not a bad thing of course, but I am not so sure the education reaches the parts it should, when it should. They dont seem to realise we are all busy working to take notice of the odd leaflet or tiny press release.

Clean green waste can not go to landfill, so attracts no land fill tax. The idea being it is 'recycled' as reused as a renewable product.
Yet, you try getting local planning approval and EA licensing for a green recycling centre...they are like rocking horse sh*t, especially in the S/E.
One site we used to use was closed down by the EA as it was recycling too much green waste relative to its license and would not review/renew their license.
Some I know have resorted to creating 'dirty green waste' just to get rid of it...admittedly it is much more expensive due to land fill tax.
We have to deal with clearing fly tipping at some of our sites and the hassle we have with local waste transfer stations (even with all the right documentation/licenses) is unbelievable and yet everyone wonders why so much fly tipping takes place.......
