Good Petrol Strimmers other than Stihl's

H ihope someone can point me in the right direction. Im after a robust, quality (albeit second hand) petrol strimmer !  Im looking for something other than a Stihl purely because they are a magnet to thieves. Any ideas ? I dont really need to spend maga money but something mid range is well within my range. Thanks

Can't go far wrong with a Tanaka TBC 230 or 290... Good reliable, japanese engine, frugal on fuel and always start second pull.

    • Thanks for the info, just had a quick peek on fleabay and the Tanakas are slightly out my price range at this time, thanks anyway.

Can't really give you any options for this as we only use Stihl, however my advice would be to speak to your local dealer, see what machines they stock, how fast they can get spares for the different machines, then use that knowledge to search eBay etc for a second hand machine that will suit your needs... Cheers
    • Thanks Harry, I dont suppose you would have ever used a Stihl fs400, just watching one one on ebay, and cannot get any reviews.
