If its practical, I just blow the leaves on to an adjacent grass area and collect them with the mower.
For really heavy leaf fall big blower is quicker in the end I think.
I do use the billy lots though as it’s great on weekly/fortnightly visits to my regular gardens. A big investment for leaves only I think looking back at it.
So imo we’ll worth it for how much more it costs than the 600
I can report back that it was brilliant for about 9 minutes!!
That was on an ap300 so do keep a petrol one!
This year I've just been mulching leaves with my Stiga twinclip prevviously I collected with the mower itself. If it's just for leaves on the lawn (and the ones blown off the path etc.) a dedicated machine isnt going to be worth the investment. If you're doing carparks then yes it is and even more useful with a wander hose.
Bought the vac kit for the BG86 blower last year. Really useful in borders, shifts the leaves quickly, makes a nice job.
Downsides......picks up small particles of mud which stick to the inside of the blower housing. Needs the outer shell taking off the clean, not a big deal just a bit more maintenance. Also the collection bag needs emptying fairly regularly.
Thanks all useful comments, the Billy Goat is an option maybe to hire or find secondhand probably for next season now. Likewise for borders a quality machine the BG86 kit sounds like with a bit of care can do the job.
