Flat rate vat

Just had a quick question for you all.Is any one on the flat rate vat scheme and what is the percentage rate you use?I can't see any rate on the HMRC website for landscapers or gardeners.'General Building and Construction services' works out at 7.5% which would be worth signing up for but would landscaping fall into this category? The only other category is 'any other activity not listed elsewhere' which is 9%The majority of my work is hard landscaping but would this class as General Building and Construction services ?Thanks

  • I think you would probably fall within the 9% bracket. Whether or not your business would be better off under the flat rate scheme depends very much on your own finances - suggest you consult an accountant who will be able to advise accordingly.
