I know not always possible but planning to work in the dark is daft!
There are so many uses for a headtorch. Changing a wheel at the side of a dark road. Working on an engine in low light. You can even get them with a rear red light so if you're working as it gets dusk in an area that's close to people or a road then you can make yourself more visible.
I have one in my woodwork shop and it helps me to see greater detail that I can't see because of poor overhead lighting and shadows caused by my open body. Imperative when using fast moving very sharp machinery.
My point was more that outdoor working in the dark or low light levels isn’t that bright torch or no torch.
