There are two plots, both of which have been gone over three times by a tractor and rotavator, and now, of course, docks and clumps of couch grass are everywhere. My problem with spraying this area is that every time I go there it's either raining (or has just rained or is forecast to rain shortly) or windy. My customer is adamant that she wants this area sprayed in time to plant out bean seedlings (that her wild rabbit population will browse, but that's another story).

How do you cope with spraying jobs when the conditions are always wet and/or windy? Every time I duck out of spraying it's seen as me being awkward.

Ben.

(N.B. the two plots are side by side and surrounded by grass, and there's a mixed native/non native hedge about 6ft away)

Residual herbicidehttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/forum/topics/residual-herbicide2012-06-14T18:41:33.000Z2012-06-14T18:41:33.000ZRyan @RNWilliamsGardenServiceshttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/RyanRNWilliamsGardenServices

A few months ago I did my PA1/PA6 course. I have since had domestic work where I have used Roundup ProBiactive 450. I have had a look online and see that Pistol http://www.amenity.co.uk/total-residual-weed-killers/bayer-pistol-herbicide-5l.html is only to be use on gravel and soft surfaces, so that's out

Being new to this, and not familiar with all products availaible is there another product that can be used.
.

New Label requirements for pesticides that are approved for use of non-porous hard surfaces were issued by the Chemical Regulation Directorate under a new update number 42/2011.

The wordings on product labels for 'directions for use' which any qualified spraying operative is required to follow now clearly state that applications to hard surfaces must be 'targeted' rather than 'blanket'.

Otherwise the operative is in contravention of the product label and thus acting illegal under UK Legislation.

All product labels on such pesticide must be updated by May 2012 by the latest although 'update' stickers' may be applied to current supplier stock.

I know from comments on LJN many of us realise this already and may only be applicable to those performing Grounds Care or large hard area maintenance (ie not the typical domestic garden unless they have large paved, concreted or tarmac'd driveways).
