The other is lifting cut slightly as the grass has gone tough as usual in late season.
Hi Alex
contact your local dealer about this and tell them to call me (neal @ etesia) and I will sort this foc because its a simple belt change needed (just note I am out of the office Monday and Thursday next week).
back story is we used a new supplier for the original belt on this machine and from the spec meant the belt should have less stretch over time, this however is not the case on the slightly older LKCGM machines and they ended up stretching over the first year to give your symptom. (anything purchased now will use another belt) so because of this we have changed the blade belt to part number 42009 which will then be under correct tension and prevent the blade slowing down.
I agree, that kind of customer service really stands out.
I think Stihl could learn a thing or two from Etesia regarding customer service.
Thanks Neal
I thought it was strange but wasnt sure weather i was pushing it to hard. I order my parts from Leigh park machinery, their service is much better than my local dealer. I need to order some new blades so will add the belt to the order. Please let me know if there are any special techniques to remove the belt, I assume i need to remove the pulley to replace the belt?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
This belt is an easy replacement, remove blade and blade cover.
You will see the belt is just around the blade clutch and it's tension is given by a sprung lever and pulley, the pulley will have a 13mm lock nut and an overlap bracket to prevent jumping on the belt just loosen nut right off and you should be able to turn the bracket away to slip belt out.
The above will all be clear when the plate is off and is a job I can do in 10 min.
On etesia.co.uk under resources you should find the pdf parts list which will also help or call the office Tuesday if your stuck and I will be about somewhere.
Don't forget to mention to Derek at Leigh park so I can make sure belt is sorted foc but chance is he will see this post anyway
