Yes, we use them on all our Echo & Stihl strimmers.

Just make sure you know the thread size in case you need an addtional adapter bolt over and above that supplied in box.

    We use 2.4 -2.7mm line.

Strangley, we had to get a replacement this morning (which is what is in this picture).

  • They look good. Are they better than the stihl autocut??
    • I use the Stihl & find them to be excellent but this caught my eye as it's so quick to load.

They also do a wide range of adapters
      • I watched the vid and it looked good!! It's not often I run out of line when I'm out!!

I have used one of these for a year or so on our tanaka tbc290 brushcutter, tough, sturdy and work well.

Never had a problem with it.

  • I find the Stihl Autocut 25-2 pretty good and cheap to run....... not the C25-2 where you feed the line in to load it (bit like this Efco one)   I just carry a few loaded spools in the glove compartment and they can be installed really quickly. Spare spools cost under £5 and as this is really the only part that wears, the strimming head lasts almost indefinitely.............. mine is about 12 years old!

We've recently started to use them on our strimmers and so far so good. The only down side is they can be a bit hard to wind the line onto the spool and I wish manufacturers would put a steel plate or something on the part that hits the ground now and again, they would last so much longer.. other than that, quite happy with them!

  • I like them, no tools to add line (we use 2.0-2.4mm so this fits fine, chunkier stuff is a bit more difficult). One of the most irritating aspects of the job is not that bad now

I would like to know where to get new "spools" or other bits. It seems to be the green bit on the bottom that wears out for us if that's what you mean, it tends to rest it on the ground when in use.
