Do you ever see a fellow member ?

There I was trundling along then M25 this afternoon between J11 & J10 and I saw a fellow member in a a nicely logo'd up van. Recognised the name and the great livery :) Really stood out.

Was hard to make myself known as I was not in an obvious vehicle.

Do you ever see any fellow LJN members on your travels ?

See nothing wrong with 'Billybop Gardening Services' - sounds quite fun & suitable :) but not sure why advertising your business would make you a "minor wannabe local gardening celebrity" ?  I'd be proud to advertise my business ?

I thought crime was low in rural north midlands areas ? In all my years in the crime ridden SE we've never had an issue....touch wood.

              Has that happend then?

If you advertised what services you offered, perhaps it would not be a seasonal business as you say ? Clients appreciate the fact they can see who we/you are etc.

A very pessimsitc view there of clients and Britain as a whole....

Only you can change that perception - hence why promoting a positive image would differientiate you from a jobbing gardener and thus up the ante

Could a plain, unmarked van just perpetuate that image and the issues it causes ?

In certain areas some use it to be untracable, unaccountable and jack of all "trades" (using that word 'loosely')

                    • I'm with billybop with people under a perception that a gardener is a semi retired person. My customers tried to knock me down on my rates. But I wouldnt budge. They wanted a whole garden maintained for 20. Some people still try to knock me down but I tell them my rates are set. I have magnetic sign writing on my van so I can take it off if need be.

I have not had my truck sign written this time (so far) but it's clean and tidy (most of the time with this wet weather and some of the long tracks I have to drive down to get to clients) and only 6 months old.
I may do it soon but I like my truck as it is. I may just get the drop down on the bed done.

                    Does it mean I'm untrustworthy?
I don't think it does but I can see that others may say so!
I would add a picture but I can do it from my phone!

I think I saw one of your vans the other week in Camberly Gary, I didn't know at the time it was one of yours until I saw you post a pic on the BOG, was admiring the simplicity and effectiveness of the signage, looked great mate...
