However I know I would not be claiming it would probably cost less than the excess to repair it as well as increased premiums!
We have been through a couple of telephone lines and BT, just pop along and repair it - no charge. Not sure if that is the case now though.
been through various pipes and cables doing driveways, although not reguarly, hazard of the job and they are never as deep as they should be or where they are shown. most i have ever had to pay was 350 for going through an electric cable into a house. wouldnt consider claiming on the insurance.
if you do go through one and they say its going to be chargeable ask to see the time sheets at the end of the work and ask to see a copy when they send you an invoice. the electric cable started at 650 as they were trying to charge me for extra time, travelling to the next job and waste disposal, when we cleared the waste.
Little thing I've learned doing tree work, if the line comes off at the pole and you report it before work 'starts' then BT fix it for free, if it comes off at the house or the middle then you pay.
Lesson to take away, if you cut it take the remaining off the pole and you've reported it then your not liable.
