Specific feedback about a particular job or general feedback?
The reason I ask is we are currently just embarking on quite a major peice of customer research ourselves
cheers Steve,
general questions concerning my regular maintenance clients but landscaping questions would be useful too as I do that even though its now not my core business.
I would be interested as well. What kind of questions are asked?
A key thing is to make sure that the questions are clear, and that there aren't too many - especially ones requiring long written answers - as this will improve return rates (though if you need long written answers do it, just might put a few people off!). Good way to get more people to do it is to offer something in return if you can too (like a voucher or discount perhaps).
Hope it all goes well! :)
Its something that you need to put a lot of thought into. If you just ask a few general questions then you will just get a few general answers. you need to really think about the information you are seeking and then design the questions to get the information. You also need to consider the sample of people you ask. Lets say you did a job when you totally ruined a clients lawn by using the wrong chemical treatment...there would be no point in asking them for feedback as you pretty much already know what the feedback will be. It could also be the same asking somebody who you knew was over the moon with your company. I would say you are better asking people who are in-different about your company because these are the types of customers you can learn something from
