Council contractors

Hi all I'm just wondering what the council contractors are using near you this year? The contractors have been using the front deck rotaries this year in Lincoln where they used to use the cylinders. The results are not brilliant!I'm wondering if it's a cost cutting measure but can't see how it saves money as its no quicker for the mower and slower for the strimmer person as they are having to edge the whole pavement as the rotary does not sit on the kerb like the cylinders do.

  • Toro/hayter cylinder mowers and some out front rotary machines. Seen the odd out front flail to

They also have some Etesia ride on for the more formal areas

BANES use a mixture of Hayter Ransome and Toro cylinder cuts. The parks etc. look very good but the verges that get cut at best monthly (although weirdly at the start of the year they were getting cut more often) look awful all the time and they often miss bits and just leave it.

  • Here in Sheffield they are using a mix of out front flails and cylinders (hayter or ransomes) followed by a walk being toro 36".

    I've seen a few Kubota ride-ons too.

They are only cutting maybe every 6 weeks, I'm not sure if it looks better or worse after they have been. I cut my own verges :)
