Construction ideas for a rill/cascade

Had a prospective client visit yesterday, and she was proposing having a waterfeature on a sloping bank, with an upper and a lower pond fed by a rill and cascade. Does anyone have any input about these, construction wise? I have not had experience of designing these, and I know they are notoriously hard to get right! I attach a pic of the proposed site. The garage may be turning into a sun room with large glass doors on the front, so top area will have more paving. Other than that, its a bit of a blank canvas!

  • Hi Sarah

Yes they can be a pain. Make sure the rill has a gentle slope otherwise you will get a torrent and use plenty of liner to over lap the joins between ponds and rill. Also make sure you get the right sized pump.
    Here's one we made earlier
