Commercial green waste disposal in Herts?

I'm struggling to find a commercial waste transfer station in hertfordshire. I'm over in Hemel Hempstead, and local council don't seem to offer anything like that. I'm a licensed waste carrier and everything, but so far the closest place I can find to dispose of green waste is in north london.

Does anyone know of a waste transfer station I could use in the area?

Thanks Nick. Its not much nearer but its another option at least.

Genuinely have no wonder some people fly tip when there are so few places to dispose legally.

  • West london composting are Harefield. Open at 7:30 so possible to get there and not lose a whole day!

It is a pain. I have nearer options but they are cheaper even including a 2 hour round trip.

  • I use the council "tip" in Harrow..... Forward Drive if you're interested.  £16 minimum charge. They use a weighbridge and take commercial green waste ...I find a really full, compressed trailer load (7' x 5' x 4'deep) is about £18. Would be about half-an-hour from Hemel I would guess.

Thanks! Harrows an easy drive from here. Cheers!

      • I'd forgotten that one. I used to go there every Saturday at opening time when I was based in Pinner, and I'd swear it was £16 a load 15 years ago!

From memory they did get busy as they're a public tip, so go first thing in the morning if you are trying to negitiate a trailer in there. :-)

        • Thats a coincidence Paul..... I lived in Hatch end, just down the road from Pinner.... for many years........... go down there every Wednesday now and do some jobs round the Pinner/Hatch end area. The Harrow tip is really easy to use as i'm sure you remember......... after the weighbridge, you just reverse up to the tipping area and pull the stuff off or tip it if you've got a tipper van....then back to the weighbridge and pay..... very quick and easy.
