Challenge for the Network

Okay lads and ladies - as an early member of LJN, I've seen lots of examples of how it helps us all out... so I don't think I'm going out on too much of a limb here with this idea.... the fella and I need to move closer to London in January for my job.... we're looking to rent a property to live in ... basic criteria - 2 bedrooms, a landlord who will accept 3 house rabbits (we have a tenancy clause in our current contract specifically for them which I'd happily share), parking for the car, and near to a train station (so I can do a 30 - 45 min commute into London), about 800 per month mark - flat, house, bungalow, anything....it's been really hard because we're so far away in Yorkshire and can't just nip out in the evening to look at places.... so if you know of something or have a relative who's an agent or anything - please HELP!

  • oh - should say that we smoke as well - but are happy to have an arrangement where we can't smoke in the house.... may help us to cut down....
  • Should you also disclose that Andy is a morris dancer? :-)
  • Discrimination on grounds of odd habit is, I think, against the law..... but yes, I probably should disclose that - it is still legal, Morris dancing....just...

  • Excessive smokers / drinkers / Rabbit keepers / Morris Dancers - The odds are not looking that good :-)

Will ask an estate agent (friend!) to have a look around for you.
  • Fantastic - thanks Graeme... if it helps, you can tell him/her we already have dosh set aside for the deposit, just don't want to move so close before Christmas, so it would be a Jan start for the rental.

  • There's a possibility that Fereday could get a job in the Woking area, but we haven't heard yet and it will be at least a week or so before we do - but Woking / commuting distance to Woking is the current hot spot for us... if the job doesn't come through, then anywhere within commuting distance of 30-45 mins of London stations will do - I particularly like Surrey as I have lived in Cobham / Stoke D'Abernon before, but I'm not fussy... just anything - time is getting short!

    Do I get a finders fee? :-)
  • Certainly do - once we're moved in, I'll happily send along a bottle of champagne from Fortnum's
