block paving edging

Hi guys a little bit of advise needed I will be laying block edging around a garden long side to.long side there will be 350 bricks all together I have predicted that it would be 1 tonne bag if building sand to be safe is that right ?thank you

  • 350 standard blocks equate to 7 sq m. Bed of say 75mm = 0.525cu m.  With say 30% added on for additional trench width and cement mix slump =  0.75cu m.  A one ton bag could be tight, but will depend on the depth of bed of course.

    you need to use grit sand or a sharp sand, building sand is for laying bricks
