    for hawthorn you could always try some medevil armor ?

    other than that try to use pole tools to get the reach without getting to close to it, then pitchfork it into a bag etc because no matter how thick the gloves are that stuff finds a way through

    I raised the leather apron idea as they seem to be in vogue with the trendy artisans as seen on some TV shows and the like, long handled tools seem a better bet.

  • I just use whatever is clean and available on the day. Winter pruning will probably involve long johns though.
