It is also extremely expensive when compared to unleaded from the pumps.

Hi nick, where abouts do you live? we have quite a few dealers around the country now and if there is no one near you then i will do my best to find a shop who can supply you.
As for it being extremely expensive, it all depends on how you look at it. Most customers of ours usually say they dont notice the extra cost once they actually start using it or say the benefits outweigh the costs.
how many litres of fuel do you get through a day in your machines?
Nick I've been aware of the benefits of this product for a while (it's sold here in France). If treated as a cost of sale I don't think you should worry about the price but think of the benefits to your machinery and your health.
How many of us have worked on a closely clipped yew or conifer hedge and inhaled thick blue petrol fumes for most of the day?

Dear Axel
I live in South Bucks, SL2 Postcode. I used around 60L of unleaded last month.

Hi Axel,
Thanks for the informative post.
I like it when I find out something new, especially via LJN !
Does it behave the the same (mix rates) etc if we want to mix our own 2 stroke fuel. We tend to use Stihl Pro/Super oil (the green two stroke oil) as it gives less emission and you don't smell at the end of the day (also Stihl state it's their preferred product for 4-Mix engines).
How about suppliers in GU9 - Farnham/Guildford Surrey ?
Would certainly be interested in finding out more....
I'snt stihls motomix available in Great Britian? Its pretty much the same thing as above. The general guides I have been given here in Belgium is to use the stihl hp super low smoke, very impressed, during the season and the moto mix / alko lyte products for winter storage or for other periods during machines being idle. From the 5 or so suppliers I deal with here from stihl ,Echo John Deere etc , none have reccomended using the produts straight .The reason has been based soley on costs. I approximated roughly the cost per day at €6 -8per day for the pertrol oil mix compared to €20 for the alkolyte.Based on a 8-9 hr use on one petrol hedgecutter per day. Thats my experience anyway.
Hi
I use around 50 to 60 Liters a month
I live in the PR post code (any suppliers?)
What is the ball park cost per liter?
I do supply it. However too many people seem to get hung up on the cost. The way I see it is that if I become ill due to inhalation of emissions causing a respiritory disease or cancer no cost would have been too much!
If you read the previous thread that Stuart earlier referred to (GL services) you'll see more of my thinking.
Also, to update figures - in 12 months I have used 28 cans/240L of Aspen 2T, bear in mind I use it in all 2 stroke machines and often have a 2nd man working for me.
I don't use it in mowers as the exhaust is a lot further away from my body. (Useful as I use far more fuel in them than 2 stroke machines :)) )
Andy
You're looking at it the wrong way Dan! How much would it cost you if you were off work for, even just 5 days a month with a chest complaint in a few years?
It is costing me for 240l/pa about £750, using regular unleaded would be about £350. (Just in 2 stroke machines).
This works out at an extra cost of £400pa, based on a 30week year at 40hrs/wk extra cost ph is only about 30 pence an hour.
Think long term, not short term! ;)
if you buy the Aspen 4 (blue can) then you can mix it with your stihl oil at the exact same ratio and if mixed correctly will then provide the same performance as the Aspen 2 which is mixed at 50:1 from the factory with Aspens own Fully synthetic bio degradable oil.
