There is more to the story here.
Bradstone was approached by a homeowner, who requested help with his garden. He had landscaped the garden over many years himself and continues to try to. He unfortunately fell ill with cancer and was unable to complete a section of patio in front of a wooden building.
Bradstone agreed to help, organising the project and supplying the carpet stones for the project. My excellent builders merchant, Buildbase in Welwyn Garden City, supplied all the aggregates. I was approached to supply a team as a local Award Winning Bradstone Assured Installer to do the construction with the help of some Bradstone Assured staff members.
It was also agreed not to just build the patio but to replace the tired path that lead down to the patio area too.
Day 1: we ripped out the old path, removed the sub base and installed MOT Type 1 sub base over geo blanket. The photo was taken about 2pm when we had just started laying the carpet stones.
With 8 people on the build, the atmosphere was fun with everyone pitching in working until the light faded. It was good experience for the Bradstone staff members to actually have some hands on experience that they thoroughly enjoyed; they do wonder how we do this every day...
Today is day 2: more build to complete and hopefully will be finished today all going well...
Great story Craig.
