Why do you makeup 3 different ratios? Old equipment that says 25:1 is due to the quality of oil at the time not the lubrication requirements of the machine. A decent oil like Stihl Super or even Ultra will be fine in all machines at 50:1
Depends on the age. I know stihl 25:1 iis okay on 50:1 as long as its not mineral oil.

I have been going by the fuel caps and it is a pain. I have some mixing bottles so was only making small amounts but I don't like having fuel hanging around too long. Just bought a 4 stroke strimmer si that is 1 less to mix for.
